As part of the Our Ancient Wars Conference happening March 22-24 at the University of Michigan, a dramatic reading of scenes from Sophocles’ “Ajax' and 'Philoctetes” - featuring an all-star cast - is scheduled for Friday, March 23, from 7-9 p.m., at Kahn Auditorium (corner of Huron St. and Glen Ave.); and Saturday, March 24, from 7-9 p.m., at the Michigan Theater, 603 E. Liberty St.

Performers in this Theater of War program - which stages performances primarily for veterans and active military - include Ann Arbor native and Pioneer High grad Zach Grenier (“The Good Wife,” “Deadwood,” and “Fight Club”); Glenn Davis (“Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo” and “The Brother/Sister Plays”); Alex Morf (“The Walworth Farce,” “Cymbeline,” and “The Alchemist”); and Polly Noonan (“High Fidelity,” “Arizona Dream,” “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”).

Admission is free to these readings, but seating is limited. For more information about the conference - which is devoted to examining contemporary uses and abuses of classical writings on war - visit www.umich.edu/~ancwars.
