AnnArbor.com's Summer Concert Series to feature Bob Skon Trio

AnnArbor.com's free, outdoor Summer Concert Series this week hosts the Bob Skon Trio.

The band, which plays pop-rock covers and some originals, will perform a lunchtime concert at noon this Friday, July 15, on the patio at AnnArbor.com's community space, 301 E. Liberty St. (at Fifth Avenue).

The Bob Skon Trio is a band of three seasoned musicians with over 75 years combined experience. Along with catchy original songs, the trio plays beloved covers from Paul Simon, James Taylor, John Denver, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, Elvis (Presley and Costello), The Beatles, The Band, Talking Heads, Lyle Lovett, Randy Travis, Chuck Berry and others.

Bandleader Skon is a musician in the singer / songwriter tradition, working in a folk-rock vein with a touch of jazz. His musical approach combines a sweetness with a bit of a rock edge. His lyrics aim for intelligent wordplay capturing the moments in life everyone can identify with.
