In a Halloween tradition, Ann Arbor's Main Street Area Association again hosts its Treat Parade on Wednesday.

Before the main event, the downtown location of the Ann Arbor District Library will host two special Halloween parties, at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m., for kids in preschool-grade 3. Halloween stories, songs, and trick-or-treats are planned.

Starting at 11 a.m., all costumed characters are invited to the annual Treat Parade. Stroll the neighborhood and look for the black and orange balloons outside of the 65 participating businesses. A list of participants can be found here.

The treat parade runs to 5 p.m.

For more Halloween events, including trick-or-treat times for the communities that designate them, see our Halloween guide.

"9:30 and 10:30 a.m., for kids in preschool-grade 3." Aren't most children in school at that time?

Looking at the AADL web site, it appears that the "preschool - grade 3" label may simply be a standard category for kids' events. I know it's shocking to imagine that a news organization would simply copy something from a press release or Web site without adding any context, explanation, or original research, so let's presume that this is the information that the AADL provided to the reporter. :)

Cool! as an adult who never really outgrew Halloween, I plan to perambulate the area in costume. If you should see someone in a long black robe with tapered sleeves, a deep hood w/a mask that I can see out of but no one can see in, that'll be me. Be not afraid. even the Grim Reaper takes a day off once in a while.Unless you annoy me. bwaaah-ha!

How very thoughtful: "Before the main event, the downtown location of the Ann Arbor District Library will host two special Halloween parties, at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m., for kids in preschool-grade 3. Halloween stories, songs, and trick-or-treats are planned." especially during that busy last week before the bond issue election. Will there be hand-outs to take home?

I think the library does this every year, even when there isn't a bond proposal on the ballot. I know we always make plans to have lunch downtown so that we can see all the kids in their costumes. It was fun again this year.
