Best Bet events for the week of June 23

MUSIC

Bring your lunch and head over to AnnArbor.com’s “Patio Concert Series” on Friday for some great music, beginning at noon. Every Friday through Sept. 9, catch great local talent outside the AnnArbor.com Community Space. This week, see Corndaddy. This band plays Americana, twangcore, alt-country, roots music, whatever you call it. Free. On the patio at 301 E. Liberty St., Ann Arbor.

MUSIC

The “Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival MiniFest” will wrap up at the Kerrytown Concert House. Friday and Sunday, 8 p.m. This year’s theme is “Music of the Spheres” and includes chamber works both earthly and heavenly. $30 for seats in rows 1-2, $20 for rows 3-5, and $15 for general admission. PRIDE MONTH

There will be a “Washtenaw Pride Picnic Celebrating June Gay Pride Month" at Olson Park on Saturday. 1 to 5 p.m. Bring your picnic basket and BYOB* (*Ann Arbor City Parks does not allow hard liquor on the park grounds). There will be a DJ, lawn games, face painting, relay races and much more! Family friendly. Free. Olson Park is at 1551 Dhu Varren Road, Ann Arbor.

FUNDRAISER

Help the fight cancer at “Relay for Life” at Washtenaw Community College starting Saturday. 10 a.m. Entertainment offered throughout the day at Community Park on the WCC campus, including live bands, kid’s activities, walking laps and ceremonies. FOOD

The last Saturday of a summer month can only mean one thing. The “German Park Picnics” have returned! 4 to 11 p.m. No one will be admitted after 9 p.m. German food and libations (beer!) will be for sale. Also enjoy dance music by Sorgenbrecher and performances by the German Park Dancers. $5. Those age 12 and under get in free. Those under 21 must be accompanied by parents.
