As previously reported on AnnArbor.com, the new season of NBC's hit weight-loss series "The Biggest Loser" features a father-daughter team from Ann Arbor.

Darrell Hough and Andrea Hough are among 11 2-person teams that will compete to lose the most weight on the show.

The premiere is almost at hand: The new season starts at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5. And NBC is doing its best to stir up interest and excitement.

The show's web site has been updated with a lot of new content — in particular, a host of new video clips.

In one clip, the Houghs discuss their motivation for being on the program. Andrea says, "I love the person that I am inside, but I'm not happy with the person on the outside," and talks about the effect her weight has had on her dating life.

Darrell speaks of concerns that he might not be able to continue to meet his family and financial obligations as his weight has made work harder: "I would work an 8-hour shift, and it would literally take everything I had out of me," he says on the clip.

Very cool to see some local folks on a big tv show. I really wish them the best of luck and I'll be watching to cheer them on.

There have been a lot of "Michigan connections" on the Biggest Loser. I hope the Houghs do at least as well as some of those past contestants. Good Luck to you both!
