Although 91 is clearly a full life, this is still sad news. Great, great writer. One of the most important writers of the 20th century, in my opinion, even though he was not prolific. "Catcher in the Rye" had a huge impact on me when I was a teenager, and again when I re-read it as a college student. RIP, J.D.
