To celebrate her birthday, Chastain will perform spring songs from the Great American Songbook. Joining her will be Paul Keller on stringed bass, Phil Degreg on piano and Pete Siers on drums.

In honor of Chastain and her jazz club connections, the Concert House will be transformed into a nightclub for the evening. A cash bar will be available.

Chastain has sung with Paul Keller's big band since 1991, when she was a waitress at the Bird of Paradise jazz club. She later opened the Firefly Club, which hosted top quality jazz and blues artists. Today, she runs a non-profit organization that provides jazz education for young musicians and presents jazz in non-traditional venues for the community, focusing on children and senior citizens.

Friday, April 12, 2013. 8 and 9:30 p.m. Tickets $15-$30 (students, $10). Reservations can be made at www.kerrytownconcerthouse.com.
