Cheech & Chong's upcoming tour features an April stop in Ann Arbor

Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong, in partnership with the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP), recently announced the schedule for a 2010 North American comedy tour called “Cheech & Chong: Get It Legal.”

The tour kicks off in Colorado on January 16, and on Saturday, April 3, the stoner comedy duo performs at Ann Arbor’s Michigan Theater. Tickets go on sale at 4:20 p.m. on Friday, November 20, at LiveNation.com. (The date is probably no accident: The first Saturday in April is traditionally the date of the Hash Bash, an annual pro-marijuana rally on the University of Michigan Diag.)

"The Cheech & Chong: Get It Legal" tour is scheduled to make 17 stops across North America. Chong’s wife and comedy partner, Shelby Chong, will open all dates on the tour, as well as DJ-Joey Mojo. (Fan club members will have access to presale tickets beginning Tuesday, November 17th at CheechandChongTour.com.)

Complete ticket, tour and on sale information is available at CheechandChongTour.com and LiveNation.com.

I heard that they wanted a VERY funny person as the warm-up ... so they looked around and found ... drum roll please .... SARAH PALIN!
Since she is on her book tour, she was interested. For the first 5 seconds she is going to tell us everything she knows about government. For the next 1 or 2 seconds she will tell us her deepest thought on foreign policy. Then she will tell us how great it was to be Governor & Dictator of Alaska, until the other party (that would be the Alaskan Republicans) turned her out. I expect she will pass the rest of her monologue discussing the 2 or 3 true facts in her book, or maybe the 2 or 3 sentences she actually wrote.

  • In this day and age, I think it’s a nearly inarguable fact that television has a monumental effect on children, and unless parents are willing to lock their offspring in a magical anti-media closet complete with corruption filter, there’s very little chance of insulating kids from what’s on TV. read more

  • There are aspects of our childhoods that we carry with us when we get older, and one of these for me has been the children’s book. It is children’s literature that often becomes our first foray into suspended belief and imagined landscapes. It is when we first question what it means to see the world and see how life can change suddenly at night. read more
