In an effort to raise money for a Clowns without Borders expedition to India called Project Muskurahat (Smile), led by Ann Arbor performer/activist Gulshirin Dubash, local artists are coming together to offer an evening of family-friendly music, dance and theater on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. at Wild Swan Theater, 410 S. Maple Rd.

The show features the acclaimed Srishti Dances of India; Wild Swan Theater; Brass Tacks Ensemble; Sumkali; and the Vocal Experiment (from UM-Dearborn). Tickets will be available at the door for $20 ($10 for students, $5 for children) and refreshments from local vendors will be served.

CWB goes to refugee camps, war zones and impoverished areas around the world and the U.S., clowning for children and trying to relieve suffering through laughter. The newest expedition will visit HIV/AIDS hospitals in rural areas around Mumbai, in addition to working in the slums and rural areas of Mumbai. The project aims to perform over 25 shows and reach more than 3,000 people. For more information about the organization and its mission, visit the Clowns Without Borders web site.
