Vintage A2 Ramones video; EW honors Taylor Swift; Sundance names entries
• Wow: YouTube user DannySaysJP has posted a couple videos of the Ramones playing the old Second Chance (on Liberty Street, now the site of Necto) in 1981. The sound is a bit muddy, but the camera work is near-professional, shot from several different angles:
Other entertainment items of note online today:
MOVIES
• The Los Angeles Times reports that the Sundance Film Festival has announced its films in competition. The full list is on the Sundance website.
• "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" comes to DVD tomorrow, and the director has spoken about some of his favorite deleted scenes.
• The awards-season march to the Oscars continues, with the National Board of Review giving its best-picture nod to "The Social Network."
• Is it wrong that I want to see this? Ricky Gervais and Emily Blunt have joined the cast of the upcoming Muppets movie.
MUSIC
• Hard to argue with this selection: Entertainment Weekly / EW.com has named Taylor Swift as its Entertainer of the Year.
• Pretty interesting: Billboard magazine has introduced a new chart measuring songs' popularity on social-networking sites.
• Ailing Aretha Franklin has undergone an unspecified surgery, which reportedly went well.
• MTV.com notes that Cee-Lo Green has a new video out, "It's OK." It's not as catchy or memorable as "F-You" (how could it be?), but it's not bad:
• Britney Spears is reportedly planning a new album in March.
ONLINE
• Google says it's cracking down on pirated material online —Â but its new measures don't apply to YouTube.
