Idol eliminations questioned; Aerosmith reunited; Oscar snubs listed; and more
• "American Idol" aired the season's first results show last night, and USAToday's "Idol Chatter" blog notes that there were some surprises. EW.com is not so sure the right people were sent home, and the Los Angeles Time's "Idol Tracker" blog is equally confused by the choices.
Meanwhile, last year's winner, Kris Allen, appeared on the show Thursday to sing "Let it Be," which is now available on iTunes as a benefit for Haiti earthquake relief. And in other "Idol" news, TMZ reports that former contestant Chikezie has been arrested for identity theft.
STAGE
• Examiner.com reports that University of Michigan graduate Anne Horak has a featured role in the "Young Frankenstein" musical currently playing at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit.
• Michigan Opera Theatre has announced its new season, focusing on audience favorites, The Detroit News reports.

MUSIC
• Apple's iTunes store just saw its 10 billionth download.
• Let's hear it for happy endings. Steven Tyler has patched things up with the rest of Aerosmith, and the band is setting out on a European tour.
• Thom Yorke has a name for his new band: Atoms for Peace. And he played three new songs at a concert in England.
• Debt collectors were turned away from Wayne Newton's home, a walled compound near Las Vegas.
• The Associated Press reports that a judge has threatened to jail Anita Baker in a royalty dispute with her ex-husband.
MOVIES
• The acclaimed new documentary about the White Stripes will get a couple of screenings in the Detroit area, the Free Press reports.
• Check out EW.com's “25 Oscar Snubs Driving You Nuts” gallery. And for those puzzled by the “Secret of Kells” entry in the best animated film Oscar category, there’s a good reason: It hadn’t received a wide release in the US before it was nominated (looks like it will be in wide release March 12). For those curious to check it out in the meantime, here’s the trailer:
• Are 3D movies really here to stay? The next clue might come from how well Tim Burton's new "Alice in Wonderland" does.
• "The Crazies" director Breck Eisner was very happy to get involved with the project.
TELEVISION
• Missing "Growing Pains" actor Andrew Koenig's body has been found, and his father says he committed suicide.
• WXYZ-TV (channel 7) reporter Steve Wilson's contract is not being renewed, according to The Detroit News.
• Snoop Dogg showed up, of all places, on "One Life to Live."
