'Idol' names 13 finalists; Clooney in Michigan soon; Fallon spoofs Sheen

"American Idol" has whittled this season's field of contestants down to 13 finalists — 10 chosen by voters and three by the judges.

ET.com has a slideshow of the finalists, while BuddyTV has a blow-by-blow recap of last night's episode.

Some are saying that Pia Toscano is the early favorite to win the competition.

Other entertainment news of note online today:

MOVIES

• The Detroit Free Press reports that George Clooney is expected to start his Michigan filming for "The Ides of March" next week. Some of the filming is planned to be done in Ann Arbor; a casting call has sought extras here the week of March 14. Still, plans change, so keep your eyes peeled.

• Since deciding against Michigan, producers of "The Avengers" have now apparently settled on shooting in Cleveland.

• MTV.com has a feature on the upcoming "Sherlock Holmes" sequel.

TELEVISION

Elizabeth Hurley has been cast as a villain in NBC's upcoming "Wonder Woman" reboot.

• Couldn't go more than one day without a Charlie Sheen item, could we? Jimmy Fallon nails this:

• MLive.com reports that while the fate of "Detroit 1-8-7" remains unknown, ABC is considering a bunch of new pilots for fall.

MUSIC

• Rolling Stone has a feature on the upcoming album from My Morning Jacket.

• Consequence of Sound reports on the upcoming album from Art Brut along with a free MP3 single.

R.E.M. has recruited some big names to make videos of every song on their new album.

• The Just Jared blog reports on the premiere of Jennifer Lopez's new video, "On The Floor."

BOOKS

• Fantasy author George R.R. Martin has announced a July release date for his long-awaited next book.
