Metro Detroit will be especially busy over the holiday weekend with four big musical events:

• Tonight and Friday, Eminem and Jay-Z do a rare pair of shows together at Comerica Park; later this month, they'll do the same at Yankee Stadium.

Lady Gaga plays the Palace of Auburn Hills on Saturday.

• The granddaddy of Labor Day concerts in Michigan, the Detroit International Jazz Festival, returns for another year starting Friday. See the full schedule, or read The Detroit News' preview and highlights. And don't forget that WEMU is sponsoring a shuttle to the event.

• Finally, Arts, Beats & Eats, which has become a popular event in Pontiac, this year moves to Royal Oak. The Detroit Free Press looks at some highlights and also has a full schedule.

Other entertainment news of note online today:

• Anyone interested in the musicians' side of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra contract dispute can check out their web page, which includes details of a planned appearance in Detroit's Labor Day parade.

Katy Perry's new album, "Teenage Dream," makes its expected debut at the top of Billboard's album chart.

Miranda Lambert led the way when the Country Music Association announced its annual award nominees yesterday.

• The Eminem/Jay-Z shows have Olympia Entertainment looking for more concerts at Comerica Park, the Free Press reports.

MOVIES

• The Free Press has a rundown on the new season of offerings from the Detroit Film Theatre.

ART & EXHIBITS

• A Banksy mural discovered in Detroit's abandoned Packard plant and then moved to a gallery can stay in place for now, a judge has ruled.

TELEVISION

• The Chelsea Standard reports that Jeff Daniels and Chelsea's Pierce Lake Golf Course will be featured on a Golf Channel program this weekend.

• Supposedly Sylvester Stallone turned down an invitation to be on "Dancing with the Stars." Who dodged the bigger bullet, Stallone or the viewers?

• The name of Conan O'Brien's new late-night show will be ... "Conan." So ... there you go.
