Dan Savage of 'It Gets Better' to appear at Michigan Theater; tickets on sale Friday

Author, TV personality, and activist Dan Savage, founder of the It Gets Better anti-bullying project, will bring his funny and uncensored advice to Ann Arbor for a live event on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 3 p.m. at the Michigan Theater, 603 E. Liberty St. This event is presented by Between the Lines and the Michigan Theater.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.com or 800-745-3000.

Tickets cost between $22.50 and $37.50, or $30.65-$47.20 including service fees.

Savage writes the syndicated column Savage Love, known for its frank in its discussion of sexuality. This style transfers over to his library of novels, including the award-winning "Savage Love" and "The Kid: What Happened When My Boyfriend and I Decided to Get Pregnant."

Savage’s latest project is MTV’s "Savage U," a reality show based on relationship questions. Other appearances and contributions include CNN, "The Colbert Report," "This American Life" and NPR.

The upcoming Michigan Theater event will conclude with an open Q&A session with the audience.

Savage spoke at Eastern Michigan University in 2010.
