Remember the Dead Schembechlers, the Columbus-based pseudo-punk band that created something resembling a career out of bashing things related to Michigan/Ann Arbor/Wolverines football? ("Bomb Ann Arbor Now" is one of their more printable ditties.) They appear to be back, and they say they're going to play here before this year's Michigan-Ohio State football game.

The band, which has a fairly long history in Columbus, changed its name after the death of its namesake, longtime University of Michigan football coach Bo Schembechler, in 2006. But as the Bastard Sons of Woody they didn't seem to generate as much publicity as they did with the old name, which — I'm just guessing here — may help account for its return.

Now, the Palestra Music Blog has an interview with band member "Bo Biafra" in which he states the band's intent to play its first-ever gig in Ann Arbor on Nov. 21 before the Michigan-Ohio State game, which will be at Michigan Stadium.

However, neither the interview nor the band's web site has details on where or when the appearance will take place. We'll be sure to keep you posted.

If you absolutely must have a sample, here's the video for "Bomb Ann Arbor Now":

Stay classy, fellas.
