OUTDOORS
Although registration is sold out, spectators are still welcome to the spectacle that is the "Color Run" in Ypsilanti. 8 a.m. At each kilometer mark of this 5K, a different color of powder fills the air and covers the participants creating an ever-increasing spectrum of color and beauty. At the finish line, the color festival kicks off and the air is filled with millions of vivid color combinations as participants get in on the color throwing fun as well. FESTIVAL
Today wraps up the Festival at St. Joseph at the St. Joseph Catholic Parish in Dexter. Noon-6 p.m. There will be a drive-through chicken broil dinner, country bake shop, cake walk, kids games with inflatables, doll booths, craft sales, entertainment, food raffles, music, bingo, and a Las Vegas tent. Admission is free; food for sale. The church is at 6805 Mast Road, Dexter. 734-426-8483.
ENTERTAINMENT
The Chelsea Area Players will also finish "CAPtivating Rhythms: A 40th Anniversary Revue" at the Washington Street Education Center (WSEC). 3 p.m. A musical revue of CAP's 40 years of community theatre. See musical numbers from "The Sound of Music" to "Seussical." A talented cast of 30 adults and youth from around the county will perform. Tickets on sale at Chelsea Pharmacy and at the door. PICNIC
The Northside Neighborhood Picnic will be held at Beckley Park. 4-7 p.m. The rain date will be July 29. Bring your own drinks, lawn chairs and a dish to pass. A grill will be provided. FOOD
It's time for "Pie Lovers Unite!" at the Ladies' Literary Club of Ypsilanti 6-8 p.m. They will have pie music, themed pie walks (be prepared to shake your tail feathers), a pie contest with prizes and a recipe swap, the ever-hilarious pie-ku poetry recital, pie quotes and of course pie eating. MUSIC
Junior Brown will perform at The Ark tonight. 7:30 p.m. Brown is a one-man musical hot fusion machine, and he's coming to town with his guit-steel, a unique hybrid contraption that's part electric guitar and part country steel guitar. People call him a cross between Jimi Hendrix and Ernest Tubb.He's also the best surf guitarist around and a wonderful composer of traditional country songs. $25. The Ark is at 316 S.
