Walk, Wag and Run returning this weekend

By Ann Dwyer

Dogs rule! And occasionally drool. But that's OK, because they'll be outside at the Walk, Wag and Run at Rolling Hills Park—or at least they should be. It's a fun, festive fundraiser that helps the dog, cats and other rescues at the Humane Society of Huron Valley.

It's a fun event for dogs and their people. There are games for dogs, vendors offering samples, a walk and a 5k run. It's just a great day to be around people and their pets. Don't have a dog? Come check out some sweet pups who need a forever home.

But please remember, if you bring your dog, make sure it's vaccinated and be mindful.

Saturday, May 18, 2013. 9 a.m.-2 p.m. 7660 Stony Creek Road, Ypsilanti Township. Check-in/Registration from 7:45-8:45 a.m. 5k starts at 9 a.m. One-mile fun walk, 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. $30 registration fee as a walker, $50 as a runner and $120 for families of four or more.

I would do this except my Chihuahua doesn't associate with animals...she's above thaqt sort of thing and my mini-dach doesn't walk....he's prefers being carried....although he does love big girl dogs! So I will just make another donation.
