On Sunday, March 14 from 2-4 p.m., in the Downtown Library's Multi-Purpose Room, University Musical Society President Ken Fischer will discuss the 131-year history of the organization — which brings performing-arts productions from around the world to Ann Arbor, and is one of the oldest cultural presenters in the country—- and AADL will launch 2 new online collections that celebrate UMS's concert history.

AADL staff will demonstrate how to browse and search thousands of pages of historical concert programs from the first 100 seasons of UMS (soon available via the AADL web site); and they will also unveil a growing collection of images that include both performance and rare backstage photographs of celebrated UMS artists over the past century. Following this demonstration, Ken Fischer will present a talk on the history and the future of UMS' archives. The Downtown Library is located at 343 South Fifth Avenue in Ann Arbor.
