Early, positive reactions to locally shot films 'Cedar Rapids' and 'Salvation Boulevard,' now playing at Sundance

Two early reviews are out for "Cedar Rapids" — a locally shot feature film comedy starring Ed Helms, John C. Reilly, and Anne Heche — which just had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. (The film comes to the Michigan Theater on Friday, as part of Sundance USA.) Both reviews are pretty positive and appear on HollywoodReporter.com and geektyrant.com.

And while it's a less in-depth review, a short HollywoodReporter piece notes that "Salvation Boulevard" — filmed in the Detroit area and Ann Arbor, with stars Ed Harris, Jennifer Connelly, Pierce Brosnan, Jim Gaffigan, Greg Kinnear and others — had a good audience response at its premiere screening. No news on when this film might have a local screening, though, so we'll have to watch to see if it gets a distribution deal at Sundance.
