Route 66 has the Ariston Cafe. The Cozy Dog and Snow Cap Drive-Ins. Angelo’s Restaurant—while not on America’s Mother Road—is a Michigan diner, an Ann Arbor institution and a damn good breakfast.

More to come, soon.

Angelo's is not a DINER in the truest sense of the word....The Fleetwood is though. But as far as the atmosphere and food it is a diner. Here is a defintion of a real diner: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diner "A diner is a prefabricated restaurant building characteristic of North America, especially on Long Island, in New York City, in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and in other areas of the Northeastern United States, although examples can be found throughout the US and in Canada. " yes, I am a diner purist and proud of it!

Stay tuned, @roadsidedinerlover! I will be citing Roadfood.com and Quick Eats' Michael Stern in my feature; I based my definition of "diner" off of his.
