Pizza: The Other American Pie. 5:30-9:30 p.m. Zingerman's Bakehouse, 3711 Plaza Drive, Ann Arbor. Using our wood fired oven, we’ll show you how easy and fun it can be to make New York style and Chicago style pizza recipes. Bring your appetite too. $100. www.bakewithzing.com.

Beer tasting: Porters and Browns. 7-9 p.m. Arbor Brewing Co., 114 E. Washington, Ann Arbor. A chance to sample and learn about some two dozen porters and brown beers from around the world. Special Winter Wine Tasting. 6:30 p.m. Paesano’s Restaurant, 3411 Washtenaw Ave., Ann Arbor. We welcome Italian vintner Giorgio Rivetti of La Spinetta Winery for an intimate wine tasting. Rockin' Rye Bread. 5:30-9:30 p.m. Zingerman's Bakehouse, 3711 Plaza Drive, Ann Arbor. In this class you'll make our traditional Jewish Rye bread. Saveur magazine called it "America's best rye".
