Ann Arbor's Zzang candy bars are finding fans across the country
Food blogger Alex Hochman has an appreciation of Zingerman's Zzang candy bars on SF Weekly. It's all about the freshness, explains Hochman, noting that Zingerman's ships the bars in small batches, choosing to work without a distributor.
"The nuts have a hefty crunch, the caramel drips down our chin a little bit, and the chocolate is rich and a little melty. It's the difference between a Frog Hollow peach from the farmers' market and grade school lunch canned peaches."

Yea, Yea, and they'll tell you how the nuts are harvested by little nuns and hand shelled and then packed in individual containers with pillows, and the carmel is made with organic butter and the chocolate is from a special Swiss chocolate maker who manufactures a secret recipe only for Zingermans. THAT is why the candy is $4. And the amazing part is people buy in to the story and then the candy. Sometime AnnArborites can be pretty gullible!!

Four bucks for a candy bar? The writer of the story is not the only one with a bit of Zingerman's dripping down his chin.
