Thirty years is a long time to be with any company, but especially in the restaurant business. Real Seafood Company general manager Barbara McCoy was honored last week during a surprise presentation at the annual Mainstreet Ventures President's Award of Excellence dinner, according to a statement from the company.

Barb McCoy has been part of the Ann Arbor restaurant scene since her first job as a waitress at Mantel's Restaurant in 1979. She went from there to another Mainstreet Ventures restaurant - Maude's - where she worked her way up from dining room manager to general manager, a position she held until Maude's closed in 1998. McCoy has been general manager of Real Seafood Company since 1999.

Mainstreet Ventures, Inc. operates 15 restaurants in 5 states, including Ann Arbor restaurants Real Seafood Company, The Chop House, Gratzi, Palio, La Dolce Vita and Carson's American Bistro.
