BestOf honors: Pastry Peddler Bakery & Cafe wins for best bakery; this week vote for best place to access Wi-Fi

What is the best bakery in Washtenaw County?

Best bakery voting began last Sunday and ended at 11:59 p.m. Saturday. Throughout much of the week this was a close competition between Benny’s Bakery and Pastry Peddler Bakery & Cafe. Decadent Delight, Zingerman’s Bakehouse and Glee Cake & Pastry made it into the top few positions during the week but, by the end of the contest, Pastry Peddler Bakery & Cafe finished in the No. 1 position with 208 votes. Benny’s Bakery finished in the No. 2 position with 154 votes. Decadent Delight finished the contest in third place with 80 votes.

This week, we vote for the best place to access wi-fi in Washtenaw County.

We live in a mobile world. We're all carrying our devices — netbooks and laptops, Kindles and iPads and Nooks - searching for a good Wi-Fi signal. You might have 3G, but who wants to use up their data plan downloading the latest version of Angry Birds Rio? That's why we're all grateful for local businesses that offer free wireless access.

This weeks best access for WiFi does not have the clear winner, McDonald's. They are great for traveling and getting work done. You can pull right into the parking lot and access the wi-fi without even setting foot in the restaurant.

@ Chudate, all valid points. I wasn't talking the merits of the poll, and I am using a McDonald's wi-fi it is typically far away from Ann Arbor

"Home" is also not included. That is far and away my favorite place. Fastest too. :) Kind of a dumb thing to vote on, imo.
