Ann Arbor's Mighty Good Coffee Cafe expanding

By Jessica Webster

Mighty Good Coffee Café, which opened on South Main Street just 6 months ago, is expanding to the south. Work has been under way for the past few days to knock a doorway through the brick wall that separates the cafe from its new seating space off the Goodyear Building lobby.

"When we made the decision to open a cafe, having the option to expand was always a consideration," explains Mighty Good owner David Myers. "We didn't expect it to happen so soon, but when the space next to us became available in early November, we were prepared to go forward without much hesitation. I think we're perfectly positioned to serve both the Workantile Exchange and our traffic from local businesses and coffee enthusiasts who make up the core of our cafe business."

Mighty Good's new annex takes over the storefront recently vacated by Nicolette Bozsik Interiors, which still operates a studio on the second floor. The new café space will be home to more seating, something which to this point has been lacking. Free wifi is available, so patrons will be able to check their e-mail while sipping locally roasted brew and munching on baked goods from the Pastry Peddler.

Mighty Good Coffee Café is located at 118 S. Main St. It is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
