Are you planning to watch tomorrow's royal wedding?

It was the summer before fifth grade. I remember setting the alarm for what seemed like an ungodly hour — especially for summer vacation — to watch Lady Diana marry Prince Charles. I dragged a sleeping bag down in front of the TV, poured a cup of milk, and drank up all the pomp and circumstance.

Nearly 30 years later, it's time for the marriage of the next future King of England. If I'm going to drag myself out of bed for this one, I want something more elegant than a glass of milk.

Luckily, I need look no further than an interview with British celebrity chef Nigella Lawson from today's Morning Edition on NPR.

Nigella suggests starting the morning off with a nice stiff drink — either a strawberry puree with sparkling wine or an iced coffee with coffee liqueur.

Once the morning drinks have got you up and running, Nigella has recipes for buttermilk scones with jumbleberry jam and kedgeree — a fish dish of Indian origin. You can find both the recipes and a transcript of the interview with Nigella Lawson on the NPR website.
