Ron's Roadside BBQ: 'hidden off to the side of nowhere and nothing'

By Jessica Webster

Mary Bilyeu, Contributor

Concentrate has a nice profile of Romanoff's Catering, also known as Ron's Roadside BBQ, located on Ann Arbor's north side. The business, an Ann Arbor institution for nearly 40 years, is run by Ron Philipp, a French-trained chef with a varied background that includes a stint with the Barefoot Contessa. Phillip inherited the restaurant from his father a few years ago.

Ron's Roadside BBQ specializes in high-quality, "low and slow" barbecue and house-made breads, salads, macaroni and cheese and soups.

You can read the full article on the Concentrate site, and check out Mary Bilyeu's Frugal Friday feature on Ron's Roadside BBQ in the Food & Grocery section.

I appreciate the reader who requested an address. How about a little help, like a link, in the sentence, "You can read the full article on the Concentrate site... " I searched for the Concentrate site, and found nothing related.

The very first link goes straight to the Concentrate article. If you follow the second link in the story, that Frugal Friday review contains a map to the location.

Where exactly is this? I've lived here 30 years and never heard of it! AT least tell us what street or cross streets it's near please. (Yes, I know I can look it up too....but since the article drew my attention.... I just thought I'd ask for more info...).

Drive north on Pontiac Trail; it's on the right side in the environs of Territorial -- worth a trip.
