The Ann Arbor Farmers Market produces a regular online newsletter, and the newly released September issue is available now.

This weekend's Homegrown Festival is featured. The event takes place on Saturday, Sept. 11 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Ann Arbor Farmers Market site in Kerrytown. A dozen chefs will be whipping up small portions of food inspired by local produce. There will also be beer, wine, music, kids activities and a silent auction.

The newsletter also reports that the Farmers Market Oral History Project is returning to the market every other Wednesday. There will be a booth where shoppers and vendors can share their market memories.

Double Up Food Bucks is mentioned in the newsletter, noting that the program makes healthy food available to lower-income families. You can read more about the program in this recent post from AnnArbor.com contributor Corinna Borden.

The Ann Arbor Farmers Market takes place every Wednesday and Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 315 Detroit St. in the Kerrytown district.
