Now I'm not saying that margaritas are necessarily a bad thing, but why not branch out a little for this month's drinking holiday? The Huffington Post and Liquor.com have teamed up to produce a list of other great tequila-based cocktails. I've been fortunate enough to have studies the production of tequila and sadly most tequilas in American bars are either garbage or overpriced, as they say "it's for the gringos." Some of you may love Patron and it is good tequila but you are paying way to much for it. Ignore the hype! Also Cuervo is very popular but most of it's products are overpriced. There is an exception though: Cuervo Tradicional is a good tequila at a good price. if you drink Gold, anything gold it is a cheap product. making it 49% cheaper alcohol (usually cane sugar) and 51% Blue Agave, which is the product from which tequila comes. This is the requirement based on Mexican Law and international trade law. There are also other good tequilas but you must make sure they are 100% Blue Agave or 100% Agave, to be tequila, otherwise you are being sold cheap alcohol at higher prices. If you are paying over $50, and I'm being generous, a bottle you are most likely are getting ripped off unless you have the palette of 1% of the population you won't be able to tell the difference.
