Happy hours revived at Goodnite Gracie/Live at PJ's

By Jenn McKee

Friday happy hours — previously a feature of the Heidelberg's Club Above until recently, when that venue became a full-time poker room — are back, now at Goodnite Gracie/Live at PJ's, located on the corner of Huron Street and First Street.

Happy Hours are scheduled from 6:30-9 p.m. on the second through last Friday of each month, and there's no cover charge. (On the first Friday of each month, Goodnite Gracie hosts WEMU's "5:01 Jazz Series.")

The bands playing in February are: FUBAR on February 12; Mike Smith and the Cadillac Cowboys on February 19; and Drivin' Sideways on February 26.

While most of the happy hours are expected to use the lower-level, Goodnite Gracie space, this week's will be upstairs in Live at PJ's. Happy hours will feature drink specials, and dancing will be encouraged.

For those of us of a certain age, this is welcome news! For those unfamiliar, this is a continuation of a happy hour that has been happening for more than 20 years at other locations. You will find a welcome crowd of regulars and irregulars. One of the shortcomings have been that most people tend to follow just one band and they really should give all the bands a look and mingle with the various followers. It is a good group! The more the merrier!
