'Messiah,' 'Sing Along with Santa,' and many more holiday events this weekend

The Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti area continues to offer a variety of holiday events this weekend. Here are some highlights:

FRIDAY

• Bring the kids to Tiny Tots Winter Wonderland at Leslie Science Center.

• Find unique gifts at the Two Twelve Arts Center Holiday Sale 2012 (continues Saturday and Sunday).

• It's an An Old Fashioned Christmas Extravaganza Show And Sale at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds (continues Saturday and Sunday).

• The Boychoir of Ann Arbor presents: A Boychoir Christmas at the First Presbyterian Church of Ypsilanti. (Also takes place Saturday in Ann Arbor.)

• Celebrate Hanukkah with The Klezmatics at The Ark.

• See the Ann Arbor Ballet Theatre's 28th annual production of the Nutcracker Ballet at Power Center (continues Saturday and Sunday).

SATURDAY

• The popular Classical Bells Concert at the Ann Arbor District Library, Downtown (main) Branch returns.

• Make Gingerbread (Graham Cracker) Houses at the Ypsilanti District Library, Superior Twp. branch.

• There will be a Holiday Tasting at Whole Foods Market Cranbrook.

• Take part in the Ann Arbor Community Messiah Sing - 2012 at Temple Beth Emeth/St. Clare's Episcopal Church.

• Enjoy theYpsilanti High School Choir Holiday Caroling while you shop at Whole Foods Market.

Sing Along with Santa at Bethlehem United Church of Christ.

• There will be Caroling & Cookies at Scio Community Church.

• Check out the Annual Cookie Walk at St. Matthews United Methodist Church.

• The Chelsea High School choirs present "Wassail" at Chelsea High School • Glenn Tucker presents a Jazz Nativity - Messiaen Meets Modern Jazz at the Kerrytown Concert House.

• See the Erin Zindle & Friends Holiday Show at The Ark.

SUNDAY

Arbor Consort: Strolling Victorian Caroling will visit patients at the University of Michigan Hospitals Complex

• The Free Holiday Classic Film Series 2012 at Michigan Theater presents "Miracle on 34th Street".

• Hear a lecture on Jewish Heroes and Heroines: Hannah Senesh at the Jewish Community Center

• St. Thomas the Apostle Church Choir and Children's Choir will present "A Celebration of Carols" .

• One Voice Gospel Choir presents A Gospel Christmas at the St. Paul United Church of Christ - Saline.

• See a Christmas Quest 2012 at Morris Lawrence Building, WCC.

• Enjoy Christmas the cowboy way with Riders In The Sky at The Ark.

THE REST OF THE WEEK

See Silver Bells: a Christmas Cabaret at the Performance Network Theatre on Monday.
