By Ann Dwyer

Pick up a new-to-you bike or donate your old one to help the Ann Arbor Huron High School Band get to France next year. The used bike sale and exchange fundraiser will be the first of its kind in 10 years, according to the press release.

Bikes can be dropped off on May 6 (5-7 p.m.) and May 8 (12-2 p.m.) at Huron High School. If you would like to sell your bike, you will receive 70 percent of the sale price and the band will receive a 30 percent donation.

The band will give three performances in France. One will be in Paris at the Greek-inspired Eglise De La Madeleine Church. In Normandy, they will perform on site at the American Cemetery and Memorial a concert of patriotic music to honor the veterans and commemorate the 70th anniversary of D-Day.

Organizers of the bike sale expect there to be more than 100 bicycles of all shapes and sizes.

Visit http://huronbandfrancetrip2014.org/ for more information, donate money and to get a preview of the bikes when pictures are available.

Saturday, May 11, 2013. 11 a.m.-3 p.m. No cost for admission. In the cafeteria at 2727 Fuller Road, Ann Arbor. 734-994-2040.
