Fifth annual FestiFools parade draws a crowd to Main Street

FestiFools, the parade of giant puppet-like creations in downtown Ann Arbor, has quickly become a springtime tradition.
The event celebrated its fifth annual occurrence on Sunday, with dozens of colorful, creative puppets part of the parade. A chilly rain greeted the start of the event, but it quickly let up and the foolery proceeded as planned, entertaining an appreciative crowd lining the street. Photographer Melanie Maxwell captured these images:

I thought FestiFools was great. It was wonderful to see so many people of all ages come out and enjoy themselves in spite of the weather. Fesitfools? Hmm, how can it be a celebration of fools & foolishness: neither the governor nor any legislator participated. But thanks to the folks who provide this hour of whimsy every year. We need a lot of that so long as it doesn't involve ruining the entire state economy.

Really? Why not indeed! Stay in the safety of home if fun events involving people having a great time in public places aren't your thing! It's Spring & we have months of pent up cabin fever to unleash so lookout Ann Arbor!
