Investors in locally filmed 'Stone' sue to get money back
The Hollywood Reporter has an article on a lawsuit filed by a movie financing company against the companies behind "Stone," the prison drama shot partly in our area that flopped at the box office last year.
The lawsuit alleges the investors lost more than $5 million because of inflated expectations of ticket sales, according to THR.

"Stone" stars Robert De Niro and Edward Norton. Some shooting was done in downtown Ypsilanti and at Ypsilanti’s Emmanuel Lutheran Church, as well as in Dexter and at the Southern Michigan Correctional Facility near Jackson.

Those investors should have put their money into a Ann Arbor startup instead.
