Jan Brett, bestselling children's author, will appear at the downtown library

On Friday, Nov. 11, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Jan Brett, New York Times bestselling children's author and artist, will appear at the downtown library, at 343 S. Fifth Ave. This event is recommended for kids preschool to grade 5, accompanied by an adult.
With more than 37 million books in print, Brett is one of the nation's foremost author/illustrators of children's books. Her books are known for colorful, detailed depictions of a wide variety of animals and human cultures, ranging from Scandinavia to Africa. Her best-known titles include "The Hat," "The Mitten," "The Three Snow Bears" and "Gingerbread Baby."
Join Brett for a fun look at how she creates her stories. After her brief demonstration, Brett will meet with fans and sign books. Her two new books, "Home Before Christmas" and "The Night Before Christmas," will be for sale at this event, courtesy of Nicola's Books.
Brett’s tour bus will be parked next to the Library. It is wrapped in artwork from "Home for Christmas" and "The Night Before Christmas, Deluxe Book & DVD Edition." Take a photograph next to the bus - and be sure to have your photo taken with Hedgie, Jan’s favorite friend from "The Mitten" and "The Hat," who will be visiting as well! Early arrival is recommended. For more information on this event, call the Youth Department at 734-327-8301 or visit the AADL website at aadl.org.
