Katie Holmes spotted at Ann Arbor's Kilwin's

Holmes had some of Kilwin's ice cream, the employee said.
Various reports online indicate that Holmes spent the past week with her daughter in her nearby hometown, Toledo, and reportedly returned to New York on Thursday, where she is preparing to appear with Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz in Theresa Rebeck's new comedy, "Dead Accounts," on Broadway. U-M grad (and Tony winner) Jack O'Brien will direct the production.

I'm sure at this point having mid western roots...she is craving a little anonymity. Katie and Suri can't walk out their apartment door in NYC to shop at Whole Foods without the paparazzi in their faces..let's give her the some room to live a normal life.. I hope her trip to Ann Arbor was enjoyable and they will feel comfortable returning..

What a coincidence. The Megabus I rode from Pittsburgh to Ann Arbor last Monday stopped briefly in Toledo! (Well, Maumee, Ohio, to be precise.) I suppose I should notify the press down there, what they missed . . . .

Oh man... LA is Hollywood. The people of LA regularly engage stars like neighbors - and then go all a-twitter. Stars by definition are newsworthy icons. It is their "profession". So why would anyone go out of their way to diss a star like Katie Holmes? Unless they are jealous Tom swooners.

And, Jaime, maybe annarbor.com WOULD print that Neil Degrasse Tyson is visiting and eating at the Red Hawk, if they knew. Despite the invasion of his privacy, I'd be interested in having the awareness so I could recognize him on the street and thank him for his contributions.

I would like to add that if you swarm people, they will not come back. In my opinion, the employee should have chalked it up as a cool experience but should not be commenting that Ms. Holmes visited Kilwins. Folks with a celebrity status want to be left alone and not tattle tailed to the press. If she wanted it known she was here, there would be a picture of her at the top of this article, visiting Kilwins.
