Lewis Black to bring his stand-up comedy back to Michigan Theater

By Jenn McKee

Surly comedian Lewis Black, who hosts a segment on "The Daily Show" called "Back in Black," is, fittingly, heading back to Ann Arbor - specifically, the Michigan Theater on Saturday, October 12 at 8 p.m.

With a show called, "The Rant is Due," Black will combine his trademark political humor with observations and, of course, vitriol.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, August 16 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.com.

Lewis Black: is the Mark Twain of our times. If anything, Black is better at skewering the inflated fantasy balloons launched by both of our political parties. I absolutely will get tickets to his performance - with humble thanks to the Michigan Theater for booking his act.

When Lewis Black gets to edit AnnArbor.com then we'll have one hell of a newspaper.

It would be funny, but pretty curmudgeonly in tone. Maybe that would work?

LOL! Good one! But lets not forget: Black would never be allowed by the "monitors" here to post comments reflecting what he thinks of some of the stories published by AnnArbor.com. :-)

He also sits for autographs and pictures after every show, for as long as it takes to get through everybody in line.

I love his shows. He's one of the few comedians I've ever heard who is just as funny w/o the profanity as he is with it. There's a DVD out of 3 half-hour Comedy Central shows he did a number of years ago w/zero swearing that are hilarious. His comedy is smart and fast.
