Library event with "Trivial Pursuits" filmmakers on Saturday

By Jenn McKee

On Saturday at 2 p.m., the downtown library hosts filmmakers from the feature film comedy "Trivial Pursuits" — which will be shot in Ann Arbor in August — to talk about making a film in Michigan. Ann Arbor natives Chris Farah (director/screenwriter) and his brother Mike Farah (director/producer) are scheduled to appear, along with producer Anna Wenger and director of photography Christian Sprenger.

'Pursuits' tells the story of a trivia-loving grad student at U-M who's staring down his own dreaded graduation and a sketchy future — but a young woman and a local trivia tournament may help him face his fears.

Earlier this year, U-M alumnus Chris Farah was nominated for a Webby Award for best comedy series ("Sexy Talk with Dirty Jay"); and Mike Farah, a producer for Funny Or Die, worked on the viral video hit "Prop 8: The Musical." At Saturday's free library event, the Farah brothers, along with Wenger and Sprenger (is it just a weird coincidence that their names rhyme?), will answer audience questions and discuss everything that’s gone into the making of the movie so far — from casting and catering choices to lighting and locations. (For more info about the film, visit the 3,4 Women Productions blog.)
