"Time Dances On," a movie by local filmmaker Sophia Kruz, was named Best Documentary Feature at the Made in Michigan Film Festival in Lapeer.

Kruz is the director and producer of "Time Dances On," which deals with her father's journey to coming out as a gay man.

"I was able to attend the festival for the Saturday night screening of 'Time Dances On' and answered audience questions in the subsequent filmmaker Q&A," Kruz wrote in an email. "The festival staff and volunteers did an excellent job in putting together the 4th Annual Made in Michigan Film Festival, and it is an incredible honor to be recognized for my work amongst many other talented Michigan filmmakers."
