While no trailer has surfaced online yet, "Cedar Rapids" — a movie shot around the Ann Arbor area in November and December last year — has been tentatively slated for a February 11 release, distributed by Fox Searchlight.

According to Indiewire.com, "Rapids" will likely be in limited release initially, and the February release may hint at a premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah at the end of January.

The star-packed comedy features Ed Helms, John C. Reilly, Anne Heche, Sigourney Weaver, Kurtwood Smith, and Stephen Root, and it's directed by Miguel Arteta (who was previously in the area to film "Youth in Revolt").

Helms stars as an insurance salesman who's never gone far beyond the borders of his Wisconsin hometown. When he gets the chance to travel to an insurance conference in the "big city" of Cedar Rapids, he leaves his much older girlfriend behind and gets involved in an "Amazing Race"-style scavenger hunt with fellow attendee Heche.

Though locals involved in "Rapids"' film shoot will likely feel excited about its impending release, February is often a no-man's-land for movies that don't garner much studio confidence, or that are tricky to market. Time will tell, I suppose.
