Apparently Madonna looks back fondly on her time in Ann Arbor.

The Michigan native, who spent some time as a student in the University of Michigan Dance Department before seeking fame and fortune in New York, said on the NFL Network that she hopes her daughter follows her lead.

Paula Pasche of The Oakland Press wrote today on Twitter, "Madonna exploring her Michigan roots on NFL Network says she wants her daughter to attend UM, she loves Ann Arbor."

Madonna's daughter, Lourdes, is 15. The singer, dancer, songwriter and pop-culture icon will perform during halftime of the Super Bowl on Sunday.

The NFL Network has posted some video from Madonna's press conference. It does not include the U-M reference, but she calls the halftime performance "a Midwesterner girl's dream"—and promises no "wardrobe malfunctions."
