Have you ever wondered what Michigan’s role in the Underground Railroad and the abolitionist movement was? Well, it is probably more than you realize. Come to Nicola’s Books at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 3 to meet Carol E. Mull, author of "The Underground Railroad in Michigan" for a discussion and signing of her new book.

This book is the first one to comprehensively look at the abolitionist movement in Michigan. Mull interweaves first person accounts with an expansive historical overview to give a fresh view of Michigan’s critical role in the abolitionist movement.

Carol Mull is a founding member of the Michigan Freedom Trail Commission. A historic preservationist and Underground Railroad scholar, she lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
