Michigan Radio to have 'open newsroom' at Biggby on Wednesday

By AnnArbor.com Staff

On Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 7:30-9:30 a.m., Michigan Radio’s news staff will fan out to Biggby Coffee locations across the state in an effort to engage listeners and the general public in one-on-one conversations about the issues that matter most to them. Dustin Dwyer and Steve Schram will be at 539 E. Liberty St. in Ann Arbor.

People attending the event can offer news tips, suggestions for story topics or discuss issues they feel should receive more news coverage. They can also sign up to be part of Michigan Radio’s Public Insight Network. PIN is a network of people that help to inform the station’s coverage and news stories with insights from their personal experiences.

Michigan Radio is an NPR news station, and the most listened to public radio news source in Michigan. Michigan Radio broadcasts at 91.7-FM in Ann Arbor and southeastern Michigan, 91.1 FM in Flint, 104.1 FM in West Michigan, and online at michiganradio.org. Michigan Radio is a service of Michigan Public Media and is licensed to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Interesting. My problem began when Michigan Radio became a running talk show. I miss the daytime classical music. Fortunately, I live close enough to East Lansing that I can get WKAR talk and music during the day. As a Michigan alumnus, it hurts me to do it, but I support WKAR 90.5 all the way. Please bring back Michigan (daytime classical music) Radio.
