Ever since Deastro's demos appeared on eMusic.com last year, the metro Detroit-based musician and producer's been getting rave reviews around the blogosphere and in major publications like The New York Times, NME, and Rolling Stone. Not that it's any wonder; his hybrid of electro-rock, dreamy pop, and soft folk is almost impossible to resist.

Though he's released a handful of recordings with Ann Arbor's own Ghostly International label — including full-band debut "Moondagger" just last month — Deastro returns to his DIY roots for a second new album this summer, "Orange Swimmer Red Swimmer." The self-released record will be for sale soon, but — as posted on his official Twitter — for now it's available as a free download.
