New book collects Robert Faber's musings on aging
Over his years in Ann Arbor, Robert Faber has created a chain of fabric stores; served on the Ann Arbor City Council; and founded a travel agency.
In his retirement, Faber has been a regular contributor to the opinion sections of The Ann Arbor News and, most recently, AnnArbor.com, generally exploring various angles on the basic theme of getting older. And now, following the suggestion of numerous readers, Faber has collected his essays in a new book, "Another Wrinkle in Time: The Art of Aging."
The 144-page book gathers 48 different essays looking at the aging process with a positive attitude. In a newly written introduction, Faber notes, "the purpose of this collection of articles is not to analyze or dwell on the accumulation of years past, but to encourage a concentration on enhancing the quality of those yet remaining."
The book is available at Barnes & Noble, 3235 Washtenaw, and may be special ordered at other local bookstores. It costs $14.95 paperback or $24.95 softcover.
