New work by local playwrights on display at Performance Network's Fireside Festival
We’re still in the first, warm days of fall, but Performance Network is hoping you’ll all be in the mood to gather around the fireside — figuratively speaking, anyway.
The four-day Fireside Festival, which offers staged readings of new work from local playwrights, kicks off at the Network on Sunday, September 27, with Joseph Zettelmaier’s “Night Blooming,” followed by: Jason Sebacher’s “Victoriana” on Monday evening; Russ Schwartz’s “Thorstein the Staff-Struck: A Tale from the Icelandic Sagas” on Tuesday; and Kim Carney’s “The War Since Eve” on Wednesday.
All readings happen at 8 p.m. at the Network (120 E. Huron St.), and admission is pay-what-you-can, with a suggested donation of $10. To order tickets, call 734-663-0681, or visit the Performance Network web site, which also contains more details and play summaries.

Speaking from experience, definitely a good way to spend an evening.
