Opening Night is Just Around the Corner!

By Pioneer Theatre Guild

Well, it is getting to be that time where the “Oklahoma!” cast is gearing up for our big debut! Our huge cast of 56 people is working harder than ever to bring this incredible historical landmark to life in the glory that it deserves.

I have been watching our gorgeous set be put together piece by piece, the lighting crew give Schreiber Auditorium an entirely new ambiance, and costumes crew make dresses for every female in the show.It is quite a remarkable feat, I must say. The cast is trying to stay healthy through this cold and swine flu party we are amidst. We are continuing our journey into the heart of this new territory, preparing ourselves for statehood in just over a year, and forming a supportive community with our fellow settlers. With a little over a week until the curtain rises for the first time, Pioneer Theatre Guild is bustling with excitement and energy. It is not even tech week yet, and already the crews are pulling late- nighters to turn Schreiber into 1906 Oklahoma. The farmers and the cowmen are trying to settle their differences, and the girls are all putting together their baskets for the up and coming Box Social. The stage is ringing with the sounds of hammers, drills, sopranos, and girls who jist cain’t seem to say no! I have never seen a state be so musical!!!!!! The United States will welcome its 51st state, “Oklahoma! The Musical,” on November 7th at 7:30pm , so get your cowboy boots ready! Visit MyraKlarman.com to see publicity photos and get a sneak peak of the show. There is a facebook event, as well, that provides a background of the show along with details about the specifics.
