Looking back at the 2010 parenting section of AnnArbor.com, readers were taken on an amazing journey. The breadth of articles provided humor, resources, and touching stories for local families. Here's a look at the top posts.

The parenting section provided Ann Arbor resources for parents including area cider mills, a full list of Ann Arbor summer camps, the area's best sledding hills and even the perfect spots to take family photos.

If humor was what you searched for, to break the monotony of a day or to escape every day parenting experiences, 2010 was a very rewarding year. Wondering what it is a stay at home mom does all day, what happens when you travel with children or what moving to Ann Arbor in the dead of winter can do to a family? Laughter is the best medicine after all, and for uncomfortable, painful or funny parenting situations our contributors delivered some of the best, most loved experiences of the year.

When it comes to deeper, more personal or touching subjects, our writers had plenty to say as well. When one family was faced with the euthanization of the family pet, reader responses prompted a second article. Readers also commented freely on one contributor's experience getting her African-American daughters to love themselves, specifically to love their hair, and another contributor's experience with her sister's Asperger's Syndrome. The column about sexualized Halloween costumes for children also struck a chord with readers.

The journey in 2010 allowed contributors to cover everything from product recalls, current events, feeding advice for new moms, adoption, music, book and toy reviews to advice to new parents. The parenting section even highlighted the youngest Ann Arbor residents through contests, at local events and with slideshows.
