I still like to dress up for Halloween. Maybe not on the actual night, these days - nor for candy or adult beverage. But to teach about the natural world in a way that satisifies my artistic, dramatic needs. Science for the masses.

On Saturday, October 24, 2009 take a "Walk on the Wild Side" at Animal Haunts from 6-9pm (last tour leaves at 8:20) at the Leslie Science and Nature Center. Out on the trail, visit costumed characters that will entertain and educate participants with skits and songs. Guided hikes leave every few minutes from the campfire. This non-scary program has been conducted annually for more than 15 years!

Back at the LSNC, kids can play games, jump in a pile of hay, and have their faces painted. The whole family can enjoy popcorn and apple cider while roasting marshmallows at the campfire.

The cost for this event is $8/person or $30/family. All ages are welcome (you don't have to have kids of your own to enjoy this event). Wear your own costume to the event!
