As an Ann Arbor native, I've seen a lot of changes to this city in my thirty-some years, and experienced some personal changes myself. Just over three years ago, my husband and I decided to start a family and were blessed with a baby girl. We're now the proud parents of a toddler girl and a baby boy, and work every day to balance work and family time. I work full-time from home, my husband stays home with the kids, and we both freelance. When meetings, family obligations and social groups are all factored in, we're quite the busy family!

I'm pleased to be sharing two of my passions for AnnArbor.com - my children and food. As a home cook, I love to experiment with new recipes and ingredients, as well as to solve the challenges of feeding a finicky toddler. I'm always on the lookout for recipes, tips and tricks to get meals on the table faster — and in the healthiest way possible. In addition, food allergies run in our family, so allergy-friendly eats is a big part of what I will write about.

We're also trying to be “green” - without being granola. Our children will inherit the earth, and we want it to be in the best shape possible for them. We recycle or re-use everything we can and try to parent with an environmentally friendly bent. Look for posts from me about this as well.

I write on a freelance basis for several print and online publications, and blog semi-regularly at Think Inside the Icebox. Contact me by e-mail to teresawrites (at) yahoo (dot) com.
